Royal Navy Dockyard ~ Monday
This is where we ported and will call home base for the remainder of the week. This is the historic Clock Tower. It has little shops inside. We met this very nice lady at one of the shops, Velda (hope that I am spelling it right) and she gave us lots of tips, etc. She was so nice, that we went back just about every day to say hi to her.
The clock part
The high tide part
This palm tree was only about 6 feet tall. When I think of palm trees, I think 20 feet tall. I guess they have to start somewhere.

Arrive in Bermuda ~ Monday
Today was our first day at the island. It is super windy and the high is about 55... I thought it was supposed to be warm here... oh well... We decided to go as a group to some outings. We got our bus/ferry fare and set out. We were going to this place called Devil's Hole. It is a small little "farm" where you can pet the turtles, feed the sharks and observe all sorts of water creatures. It seems that they are closed only 2 Mondays out of the year... Yes you guessed it, today was one of them. We went to plan B and went to the Crystal Caverns. Seen one cavern, seen them all...

Leaving NY Pier
Stampin' Up! thinks of everything. They gave us this blanket as our little gift so that we could watch the landscape while we were leaving and not get cold. Great idea because it was about 45F outside on our private balcony.
There are so many beautiful buildings across the river that we got to watch. You can tell some of them have been there a while.
This is a shot of Governer's Island. It has some history but I cannot remember it right now. I think it had to do with the coast guard base for NY State. I think..
Here she is... Lady Liberty. Did you know that her waste is 33 feet around... Wow that is big!

Empire State Building
As part of out little NY package that we bought from Aunt Sabrina (OUR GREAT TRAVEL AGENT) we had tickets to the ESB. We went to the 86th floor. It was high enough for me to see what I wanted... There were little birds way up there. I guess some people feed them as they seemed to watch real close if you had food. There are just so many buidlings in NY, it is amazing. Real Estate is a hot comodity. Wish I had some... anyway... It was a great view from all the way up there.

Con't Photo Tour Little Italy & SoHo
Here are some great little houses. Just so that you have an idea of the price on these... 1300 sq. ft runs for purchase about 1 to 1.5 million US dollars... know what I could do with that kind of money??? live on a tropical island somewhere...
See the little house in the middle below??? It is only about 10 feet wide but it is 3 stories tall.. Where to put all the furniture???
SoHo is known for the big windows. It is one of their signature id's that you just left Little Italy and arrived in their boro...
This is the resturant that we ate at with Beckie and John Kareck. It was so good, I want to go back the next time we are in NY. Marc wanted to know how I heard about them and I had to give credit to Tracie Barone. Her and her hubby ate there one time and highly recommend it... I now do too!
Just a cute little cafe on Mulberry Street (Little Italy has gotten so small, it is just on this one street now but it used to be a whole lot bigger)
Con't Photo Tour: Subway
We took the subway to Chinatown. As soon as we got up out of the subway little ladies approached us (because I am sure we looked like tourist) and would say "Coach purse, rolex watch, perfume and makeup" All in about 1 second. We just smiled and kept walking. Marc showed us several shops that were closed up... he said that they were probably selling stuff as "real" and got busted. Most of it is sold in the little back rooms... I was too scared to buy any of the fake stuff anyway!!! Chinatown is right next to Little Italy and that is right next to SoHo (South Houston).

Con't Photo Tour: Brooklyn Bridge
Here we are on the Brooklyn Bridge. If we went all the way across, we would be in Booklyn... hee hee We went halfway... all up hill... whew... Talk about winded... It was beautiful to see the city behind us. The bridge is seperated by a white line... walkers on one side and bicycle riders on the other. As you can imagine, the bikers gain lots of speed on the way "down" the bridge... Best not to step in their way or you will get hurt!

Con't Photo Tour
NYC... Friday 8am...
Wow it sure is early.. We are supposed to meet our tour guide at 8am... Well, you know me, I have to be early because I cannot stand to be late... to anything...
We arrive at the designated meeting place at 7:45 but without breakfast (not good).
Mark Samuels is the owner of PhotoTrek Tours. Well worth the time and money. Marc took us all around NYC and showed us stuff we probably would not have seen. Since he takes all the photos, we did not have to worry with asking someone to do it for us. He has a great camera and knows how to use it. Here is his website: http://www.phototrektours.com/
After the 3 hour tour, we were beat... It felt as if we had been in NYC for 3 days and had not even hit the 24 hour mark yet....

NYC... Thursday March 27
Hi everyone... The highs in NYC were about 45 or so... COLD and very windy..... The flight was good and our hotel is very nice. We are staying at the Warrick Hotel. Very Swanky.
Tonight we go see "GREASE". This is the one where this past summer we got to vote for the Danny and Sandy. They were great and the show was definitely worth it. We had 2nd row seats right smack dab in the middle. They were so close that one guy accidentally spit when he spoke and it hit the little girl in front of me... Whew.... It barely missed me. The show was at 8pm and lasted until 11... I have not walked this much in a long time.

Ok so I cheated... this photo is from our tour tomorrow but you can see the ad for GREASE in the background on the right...
We must get some rest for tomorrow. We have a 3 hour walking photo tour with a local!!!
Getting to NYC
Out flight to NYC is actually to Newark, New Jersey. I did not remember this but they have an IKEA... I saw it on the plane as we were getting ready to land... No time to go but I really want to!!! Maybe I will have to make a trip to the one on Atlanta this summer with the girls!!
The flight was good but the shuttle ride to the hotel... that is a whole different story. I guess I better get used to the NY drivers...
